General description

Dogs affected by LPPN3 often show breathing difficulties as the first sign noticed by loud and gagging breathing and leading to laryngeal paralysis. Other typical signs of a polyneuropathy such as gait disorders can also occur.

Detailed description

Dogs affected by LPPN3 often show breathing difficulties as the first sign noticed by loud and gagging breathing and leading to laryngeal paralysis. Other typical signs of a polyneuropathy such as gait disorders can also occur. In addition to this mutation, there are other causal mutations that lead to the similar diseases LPN1 or LPN2 in Leonberger.
