Detailed description

Prekallikrein deficiency (KLK) leads to loss of prekallikrein function, a member of the coagulation cascade. Affected dogs show no to little symptoms of prolonged bleeding. In combination with other defects in the coagulation cascade (factor VII, VIII and IX deficiency) Prekallikrein deficiency affected dogs did exhibit stronger bleeding.
